Shop History

The owner, Clive Noble grew up playing in local bands spanning music from The Shadows and The Beatles to Led Zeppelin and everything else in between. He constantly gained knowledge though personally supporting large acts and used this knowledge to form a general music business.

Clive is also a fully trained electronics engineer, a vocation which allows him to be able to deal with the design, repair and installation of most things electrical and electronic with the emphasis on sound and lighting.

 

A family company evolving in 1962, selling all electrical goods from radios, televisions, washing machines and fridges to musical equipment. We were first based in the Cardiff suburb of Llanishen.

Moving in entirety to Cathays, Cardiff in 1987, concentrating on all aspects of music: guitars, amps, drums, keyboards, recording equipment, sound and lighting plus inductive loop systems for pubs, clubs and places of worship.

A final move to our current location came in 1997. This premises has free parking facilities and is situated in a vibrant village close to M4 junction 32.

 

Shop Services

This is a service based business to try and ensure customer satisfaction, and with over 43 years of successful trading experience, we must be doing something right! We have in house experience to carry out most repairs to guitars, amplifiers, p.a., lighting, keyboards and related items. We hold circuits to rebuild specialist amps, especially vintage valve and discreet device brands such as Ampeg, Burns, Carlsbro,Fender, Hi-Watt, Marshall, Novanex, Orange, Park, Selmer, Vampower, Vox and Watkins. If it is a valve unit then we have probably serviced it at sometime.

Brass, woodwind and string instruments can be ordered in along with a selection of books and tutor aids. Buy a starter guitar, bass or drum package and have a free lesson with one of our professional tutors!

We supply education centres from schools to colleges and will be pleased to assist in your choice of equipment, supported by our technical back-up. Whether it is a place of worship, laboratory, funeral parlour, show home, public house, club, auction room, equestrian event, corporate meeting or lecture then give us a call.

Both amateur and professional users would benefit from the in house expertise of Wet Paint Productions. Wet Paint offers complete track production. Have your demos enhanced, remixed or talk to us about programming, composition and arranging advice on licensing, industry contacts and opportunities in the music performance business. Specialty backing tracks can be programmed! Ask for our rates on keyboard and computer tuition. Your equipment or ours. Give us a call (02920) 613867. Shop is open six days a week Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 5.30pm (out of hours by prior appointment) so park for free at the rear of the shop and call in and see us!
